Service Excellence: Commissioning and sea trials successfully completed. The world’s largest cruise ships of the Icon class: “Icon of the Seas”, “Star of the Seas” and “Legend of the Seas”.

Liquefied natural gas is currently regarded as one of the most environmentally friendly marine fuels, offering significantly reduced emissions. The “Icon of the Seas,” “Star of the Seas,” and “Legend of the Seas” were designed and built at Meyer Turku in Finland for Royal Caribbean Cruises. These vessels rank among the largest cruise ships in the world to be powered by LNG, both at sea and while in port.

In addition to supplying its own LNG fuel gas supply systems, Marine Service GmbH is a reliable partner for performing stress calculations for piping systems, as well as for developing manuals and operating instructions. Furthermore, the company provides support during factory acceptance testing of components and supervises commissioning activities at the shipyard. In addition, Marine Service GmbH delivers professional training for ship crews and shipyard employees and accompanies all sea trials until the ships are delivered.

Marine Service GmbH is proud to have successfully provided comprehensive services in the spirit of “Service Excellence” on behalf of Meyer Turku in Finland for the first three ships of the Icon class.

Working closely with Meyer Turku, the flagship of the Icon class, “Icon of the Seas,” was successfully delivered on November 28, 2023, and its sister ship, “Star of the Seas,” on July 10, 2025. The third vessel “Legend of the Seas” was successfully delivered on 10.06.2026.
